Table Tennis Bat Glue??

Hey guys,

I just recently bought a new table tennis bat, the only problem is that it is not put together, so I need to glue the pads etc together. I was told that you need a special type of glue for it? Do any of you know where I can find the glue to stick the pads on and how much it would cost?

Cheers!!

Pay as you go tables

Hi all,

My name is Davorin, I’m relatively short time in Dublin and I was wondering if anyone would know of a sports/leisure centre where I’d be able to book a table for few hours on a pay as you go basis, without being a member of a table tennis club. All the centres I had a chance to look at required membership, so if anyone has any info on those who don’t, I’d appreciate it very much.
I live close to city centre, St. Patrick’s Cathedral area.

Thanks

Davorin

Structure of Competitions

We have set up a working group to examen what changes we might make to the competition structure in Ireland. We have invited input from various interested parties i.e. the Branches , Umpires Assoc, Schools committee etc etc but we really want to reach out to the members and find out what you want. So now is your chance.

Some questions just to get started.
- Do you play in tournaments . If yes how could we improve them , what would it take to encourage you to play more. If no then why not. What format of tournament would you be interested in.
I have noticed that there are some very successful summer leagues that are run by clubs - maybe we could extend that type of thing?
- The ITTA recently introduced a “Junior Challenger series” type of event - Sponsored by Stiga - that excludeds elite players and then gives kids loads of games and eventually ends up divisionalising them. We had 100 kids turn up last weekend in Lucan for that and the minimum amount of games that everyone got was 8. Could we do something like that for seniors? By the way we just put everyone into the same draw so you could classify it as an ability event.- What do people think of the national teams competition? Could we expand that?
All comments / ideas about we can improve things are welcome.

Tralee Table Tennis

Like vinny77 I have just returned to Table Tennis but my absence was much longer! I played in the late 70’s in Cork (Rochestown College) and gave up when I left school in 1980, pity as I really enjoyed the game! Last year we set up a club in Tralee, we now have about 50 kids playing and about 20 adults, mostly of my vintage!
We’re looking for new Adult Members, we play Wednesdays in Balloonagh School Hall in Tralee and all details are on our web-site http://www.traleetabletennis.com.
Half thinking of taking the plunge and entering a veteran’s tournament but I think I’d be embarrassed and having a very early trip home!
