Connaught Chair Eddie Ditchburn invites entries for the upcoming Connaught Grand Prix!
The ITTA Connaught Branch will organise a new tournament on the ITTA Calendar for the 2010/11 season with the introduction of the Connaught Senior Grand Prix on 27th and 28th November 2010 at Breaffy House Hotel Sports Complex near Castlebar in County Mayo. This new Irish Senior ranking event and represents a fantastic opportunity for the Connaught Branch to host a new major Irish tournament, their first for a number of seasons.

We are indebted to our key sponsors Tommy Fitzgerald and Stiga Ireland, Breaffy House Hotel Resort and Classic Mirrors Kilkelly for their assistance, “said Branch Chairman, Eddie Ditchburn this week. “The Branch also thanks Teresa Brady Events Officer and Breaffy House Hotel for providing us with an exceptional venue for this event. The Connacht Branch invites all to this new event in the West of Ireland”.
ITTA Secretary, Ken Strong expressed his thanks to the Connacht Branch on behalf of the ITTA Board for all their work in staging the tournament. “We are delighted to be able to approve this new event for the Connacht Branch and thank the Branch for all its work to date. Such is their enthusiasm to make a success of the tournament is their appointment of well known International Referee, Mick Strode from England as Tournament Referee,” said Mr. Strong.
The venue for the event is Breaffy House Hotel, Sports Complex, Breaffy, Castlebar, County Mayo.
The tournament will begin on Saturday 27th November with the banded events on the Saturday and the Open/Under 21/Veterans/Restricted events on the Sunday.
Special reduced rates available in the hotel for Bed & Breakfast are:
Single Room: €65.00 per night.
Twin / Double room €45.00 per person sharing per night
Triple Room €40.00 per person sharing per night
Lodge / Family Suite €35.00 per person sharing per night
Child rates
Under 5 Free of charge
5 – 12 Years €15.00 per night applies
Over 12 Years Adult rate applies.
