Pre-Olympic Training Camp : Schools Invitation

With London 2012 just around the corner, the emphasis for all high performance athletes and teams is top quality training opportunities, and ultimately Olympic qualification. In November five countries will head to Valley Leisure Centre in Newtownabbey for a Pre-Games Training Event giving schools a unique opportunity to watch Olympic Standard Table Tennis.
The event takes place on 7-11 November and will see the GB and Spanish Women’s squads, plus individual athletes from several other countries, arriving to make maximum use of this training event.
There will be a head-to-head challenge match between GB and Spain on Tuesday 8 November at the Valley with superb viewing and access to the stars. This event is free and will feature Na Liu, Northern Ireland’s top player, Shen Ye Fei for Spain who has already qualified for London 2012, England’s top two players, Jo Parker and Kelly Sibley and Welsh number one Naomi Owens.
There will also be training sessions throughout the week and we would like to invite your school, to come along and watch and make the most of this chance to watch Olympic standard sport on your doorstep. The pupils will also have the chance of a taster session with the Irish Number One Amanda Mogey.
