Ireland's STIGA sponsored Primary School International squad has been announced.
Boys

This year the event is hosted in Cardiff, Wales. Both teams are made up of players who are making their first appearance for Ireland, making this a very special event for the players and their families. All will hope to produce their best form at the event under the guidance of two very experienced captains – for some it will represent the first of many international honours to come.
A notable feature of this year’s selection is that 50% of the team are playing their table tennis in Connacht. This is a strong testament to the work being carried out by Edward Ditchburn and his dedicated team at grassroots level – it represents a seismic shift for Connacht players to dominate an international selection for the first time. In picture are the 4 proud Connacht and now Ireland players.
In 2010, the Irish Girls produced some fantastic performances to claim Team silver medals at the Primary Schools International hosted in Guernsey. Coach Louise Long and team of Katie and Elayna McGlone, Laura Finn and Sarah Cooney were delighted to bring home silverware. The Boys finished in 4th and coach Shay Logue will hope his squad go one better this year to finish on the podium.
