Commenting on the event. ITTA Secretary Ken Strong stated:
" We travel to this year's 6 Nations Championships with 2 strong teams. With the improving in Paul Mc Creery and John Murphy since last year's event in Ireland we are hopeful of success in the Men's event. Our Women's Team players, Amanda Mogey and Claire Nelson have just returned from the Commonwealth Games with the Northern Ireland Team where they recorded a 9th place finish in the team event. They will be strong contenders with England for the Gold medal position in the Women's Team competition."
