WIS Appointment Announced

The Irish Table Tennis Association is delighted to announce the appointment of Rhona Daly as its new Women in Sport Coordinator following the return of Liam O’Ceallaigh to industry.

Rhona is a graduate of the University of Limerick in Exercise and fitness and also of the University of Glasgow where she was awarded a Masters in Anatomy. After early years as a project manager in clinical research she has focused on her real passion of sport and lectures on fitness programmers for children working with schools to involve children more in healthy exercise. She holds swim coaching and lifeguard qualifications.

As a top ranked qualified FIFA international referee in Ireland, Rhona has officiated at national and international matches, both male and female. She has previous involvement with the Women in Sport Programme within the Football Association of Ireland.

Rhona will be responsible for the successful delivery of the ITTA WIS Programme and promoting the benefits for women of being involved in table tennis.

“I welcome Rhona to the ITTA staff on behalf of the Board and look forward to working with her on the WIS Programme. At the same time I want to thank Liam O’Ceallaigh for all his work on the Programme to date. Liam leaves with the best wishes of the Association.” said ITTA Secretary, Ken Strong this week.
