International Women’s Day 8th March:  Club competition

International Women's Day takes place on 8th March.  The ITTF is encouraging clubs throughout the world to commemorate this day through table tennis.

We would love clubs to use this opportunity to promote International Women's Day in their local area, informing their communities that their doors are open to women and actively encourage women to take up the sport.

There are no limitations on what you can do.  Why not have an open day inviting women in the local area to drop in and pick up a bat, or run a women's only training session.  You could host a Mother and Daughter Challenger style tournament or run a tournament with mixed teams or women only teams (but no boys only teams!).

Any club that signs up for an International Women's day event will be give 5 free spots at their next local STIGA Challenger event (Junior or Senior) and will also be entered into a draw with the winner receiving free entry to the Classification (Junior or Senior) for 10 of their affiliated members.

Register your event by contacting the ITTA office  - wis@irishtabletennis.com.
