Report from the ITTA CLG 2020 Adjourned Annual General Meeting

The Chairman, Mr. Joe Hickey welcomed everyone present online to the meeting and introduced Mr. Rob Cowan (Director) and Mr. Richard Butler (Chair of the Management Committee). The Chairman addressed the updated Covid 19 restrictions in the Republic of Ireland which has led to the Adjourned AGM taking place online. There were members from all four provinces represented by proxy and online.

Mr. Rob Cowan outlined the Company’s Financial Report. Following a number of questions, this report was adopted. Mr. Richard Butler, Chair of the Management Committee presented the reports of each of the Managers within the Management Committee. Mr. Kenneth Strong presented his Directors report. The Reports of Directors, Sub-committees and Branches, which had been circulated in advance of the meeting, were also adopted.

Mr. Kenneth Strong was nominated and appointed as Director of the Company.

The Vice Presidents re-elected were Ms. Anna Kelly, Mr. Patrick O’Brien and Mr. Tony Phillips MBE. It was proposed that Mr. Alan Strong MBE and Mr. Tommy Keenan be elected as Vice Presidents. Both of these nominations were adopted.

It was noted that additional volunteers were required for the Disciplinary and Jury of Appeal committees. Further nominees for both committees are to be sent to the Operations Manager by email (

The Annual Awards were postponed due to the current government restrictions. A decision on winners is to be made shortly and it is hoped that the awards can be presented later in the year.

The meeting recorded for posterity the names of the following members who were deceased since the last meeting:

  • Mr. Joe Finnegan
  • Mr. Vinny O’Neill
  • Ms. Deborah Philips
  • Mr. Brian Larrigan
  • Mr. Richard Leonard

A proposal from the Munster Branch to amend the Constitution in relation to the official notice requirements for Adjourned General Meetings was withdrawn following an explanation of the existing legal obligations on the Board when such a meeting is adjourned.
