Table Tennis Ireland Capital Equipment Allocation 2018

14 September 2018

The recent process for the allocation of capital equipment formerly belonging to Table Tennis Ireland (TTI) was hugely oversubscribed. Three times as many applications were received compared to the number of tables actually available.

The board of TTI has allocated equipment using a points based selection process based on several factors, but weighted toward applications which covered, increased participation, Women in Sport, Disability Inclusion and Disadvantaged Areas. Unfortunately clubs in Northern Ireland were unable to be considered due to the terms of the initial grant from Sport Ireland.

The following Schools/Clubs have been successful:

O Connell Primary School, Dublin

Stepaside Educate Together School, Co Dublin.

Hartstown Community School Clonsilla.

St Patricks Primary School, Ringsend.

San Carlos School/Leixlip TTC Kildare.

NCTTC Donabate  (Table Upgrade/Swap)

Beechill TTC Cork

Ballincollig TTC Cork.

Several of the above recipients are new venues and will receive integrated support through our Club Development and WIS programmes.

TTI may have further allocations of equipment available subject to a review of table stock and the  return of previously awarded tables where the applicant was not compliant with the terms of the award. Such allocations will be made to applicants from the July process.

Club/School Secretaries should note that several applications were very poor in respect of the information provided and their presentation, making it impossible to score them properly. We would urge applicants to complete the forms with care in future.

Following a recent Government announcement of further Capital Grant funding, TTI are currently preparing their application for 2018/2019 funding for projects within the Republic of Ireland. Unfortunately the funding is not available in Northern Ireland at present.
