World Championships set to commence in Dusseldorf

The curtain is set to come down on the 2017 Liebherr World Table Tennis Championships in Dusseldorf.

The showpiece event will commence on Monday 29th May and run until Monday 5th June. As ever, the very best players from around the world will battle it out for the sports biggest prize, with this years edition of the event seeing a total of 108 countries from around the world being represented.

The Irish challenge will be led by a continguent of 5 players; National Champions Paul McCreery and Katie McGlone, as well as Gavin Maguire, Ashley Givan and Mia O Rahilly Egan. Tomorrow will be a busy day for the whole squad, with Men's and Women's Qualification as well as Mixed Doubles taking place.

Be sure not to miss out on the Paul McCreery challenge, as the Belfast man will be on the Table 3 Live stream for both of his group matches. His opening match takes place at 12:15pm local time on Monday.
